With the holiday season beginning, let’s keep lice away at family gatherings. Indeed, we all want to spend the holidays with our family and friends safely without having to deal with bugs.

Keep Lice Away at Family Gatherings

When people are gathered together in one room hugging and being close together; head lice can spread easily.

Of course, you don’t want to have any uninvited guests ruin your holidays.

Moreover, the best way to prevent any type of problem is to take steps to protect you and your family. Be sure to visit our Preventative Maintenance post to maintain a lice-free home.

Lice Spread Quickly During the Holidays

Whether you are staying home, having company from other cities or towns; these pesky bugs travel. For instance, if someone has a problem and visiting your house; there is a good chance that others will be infested. At the same time, it isn’t uncommon for there to be an infestation during the holiday season with people traveling.

Since these critters love to crawl from person to person; anyone coming into contact with someone who has head lice is at risk.

Whether your hair is clean or not, doesn’t matter. These critters love clean heads. With this in mind, you may want to keep your hair in an updo or a braid to keep the bugs away.

More importantly, make sure your kids don’t share any of the following with other kids.

  • Barrettes
  • Blankets
  • Hairbrushes and combs
  • Headbands
  • Hats
  • Pillows

Meanwhile, many kids end up sharing beds during the holiday season. If someone has an infestation; make sure you don’t have them lie down on the bed, sofa, carpet, or use any pillows.
