It is overnight camp season. As your preparing things for your kids, today’s post will help prevent you from receiving a phone call from the nurse at camp letting you know your child has lice.
Overnight Camp Season
With your kids getting ready to leave for camp; it is important to make sure your children are healthy. Be sure to read my Healthy Kids Day post to learn more about how the YMCA has been instrumental in providing health and wellness tips to families.
Overnight Camp Season – Packing List
Whether your child is attending camp for a few days or for the majority of the Summer; packing can be a daunting experience. But, it doesn’t have to be.
Before you start packing, make sure you check with the camp whether to pack everything in a duffel bag, suitcase or trunk. When packing, make sure you have all of your kids belongings labeled. This should include everything from clothes, towels and basic necessities. For instance, if something gets misplaced or lost and it has your child’s label; it is easy for someone to return this item to your child.
Of course, packing should include NitFlix for preventive methods. Be sure to visit my shampoo and conditioning page to learn why these products are essential for everyone.
Another packing essentials is plastic bags. Indeed, these will help your child keep their wet and dry clothing separate. Since many camps have a musky odor, pack some fresheners or dry sheets to keep your child’s clothes smelling fresh.
At the same time, many kids are homesick. Moreover, you may want to pack some special items for your child. Perhaps, you can add a family photo, a photo of their animal or a book.
In summary, it is important to have a check-list to make sure you have everything packed so you don’t receive a phone call at a later time that you missed something.
As always, I welcome your comments on how you prepare for overnight camp season.
Happy Overnight Camp Season!
